Happy Stone ID is made for families. We collect as little as possible, and this page explains in plain language what we do keep and why.
What we keep
Your account details (name, email address), your stones with their photos and descriptions, and the places where stones were placed or found. Locations belong to the stone, not to you: we do not track you.
Children
Children's accounts exist only within a family and are managed by a parent. Children's names are never visible to people outside the family; finders only see the name of the stone.
Photos and visibility
Photos of stones are visible to anyone who finds the stone. Please keep recognisable faces and home addresses out of the frame. We remind you of this when you upload.
The app
In the app we keep, for each phone or tablet you are signed in on, its model, the app version and when you last used it. You can see these devices in the settings and sign them out there. If you allow push notifications, we keep a push code for that device; notifications go through Expo's push service to Apple or Google, carrying only the text of the notification. The app uses your location only while you look at the map or place or find a stone, never in the background. We remove your phone's location data from photos before we store them. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us only your name and an email address, a hidden Apple address if you prefer.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and shares nothing with anyone. We only see which pages are viewed, which website you came from, and the country, language and type of device.
Your rights
You can always view, change or delete your data in settings. If you delete your account, your stones keep travelling anonymously, or you take them offline with you. That choice is yours.
